Hi everyone, I’m Yu Xiang! I’m currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts and Social Sciences at Monash University Malaysia. I’m a history enthusiast with a strong passion for political theory, particularly electoral systems and political parties.
I believe politics is embedded in our daily lives, influencing us in both visible and subtle ways. Through my three-month internship, I hope to engage with communities, listen closely to people’s real needs, and examine government policies from fresh perspectives. I aim to propose meaningful policy recommendations and strengthen my research skills along the way.
I also believe that history and politics are deeply interconnected. Historical developments shape both global and local political landscapes, and understanding the past helps us better interpret the political realities of today. This conviction continues to guide and inspire my academic journey.
If you’re passionate about history, politics, or public policy—let’s connect!

Get ready to be the punching bag, ridiculed, questioned, and taken for granted. Our politics today is more on who can shout louder rather than who can actually define and administer proper policies that helps the communites move forward and live a better life. Good luck and all the best.
Welcome Yu Xiang! 👋 A special invitation to join us on Saturday, 5:30–7:00pm at Menara MBPJ. Come experience how the Malaysia Towerrunning Association has already guided over 2,000 Malaysians to better health, stronger fitness, and a more energized life — one step at a time. 🏃♂️⬆️ Your future self will thank you for showing up. Another great initiative proudly starting from PJ — home of the Towerrunning World Champion! 🇲🇾🏆

I welcome the announcement by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, to exempt companies with annual revenue below RM1 million from e-invoicing.
In 2024, MSMEs in Malaysia contributed 39.5% (RM652 billion) of the country’s total GDP and employed about 8.1 million people, which corresponds to around 50% of total employment.
More importantly, the growth rate of MSMEs in 2024 was 5.8%, outpacing the growth of non-MSMEs (4.7%) and national GDP (5.1%).
This shows that MSMEs are not just numerous, but the backbone of the economy. Nearly half of all jobs in Malaysia depend on MSMEs — making them central to employment stability, livelihoods and inclusive growth.
The data also show that MSMEs have outpaced non-MSMEs in growth in recent years, demonstrating resilience and strong potential to drive future economic expansion. However, due to historical neglect and fragmented policies to support SMEs, many SME owners are of the opinion that the government does not pay enough attention to capacity-building and growth support.
Headwinds from US trade tariffs, as well as the aggressive expansion of Chinese businesses in Malaysia, are making their ventures more uncertain and vulnerable to global risks.
This is already frustrating, but even more so when they are asked to comply with increasing layers of bureaucracy that do not make them more productive or competitive.
For instance, when there is a hiring or resignation, one needs to complete submissions to LHDN, EPF, PCB, SOCSO and CP22A — five times on separate portals for just one employee. A small firm of 10 employees would require 100 actions to complete the hiring and resignation processes.
When MSMEs are disproportionately burdened by such administrative time and cost, we must ask whether our ministries and agencies are paying sufficient attention to these operational realities.
I have long advocated for the appointment of an SME Minister, and for a single ministry to steer and serve MSMEs in my parliamentary debates. All SME-related functional departments and agencies under KUSKOP, MITI, KKDW, KPDN, and even Bank Negara should be brought under one roof.
Only then can the historical neglect of MSMEs be systematically rectified, and only then will the millions of ordinary enterprises finally have a voice in the Cabinet.
If there is one thing the Prime Minister can do to show that the MADANI government truly cares and reacts to the outcry of ordinary enterprises, then revamping creating a dedicated SME Ministry in the upcoming cabinet reshuffling is the first — and necessary — step. ... See MoreSee Less

Good focus on the msme.. But that's already the role of Pemudah under economy ministry which RR was chair?
Brilliant idea. Support as their needs are different from GLC, TNC & MNC
Well said Sir Lee Chean Chung Keep it up. Our Employers Association and its members are behind you for this.
You should become a Minister, YB. You and Wong Chen.
We need this kinda of representative. And thank you for taking lead in resolving the traffic issues in Jalan Pengaturcara U1 (UBP). Hope the problem can be further improved. Tq.
We are supposed to reduce minister posts and not increase further!
YB. If PH truly care, which I believe yes, PH should stop going after the nons ,n businesses. Life is already tough. Majority of nons need to pay full for tertiary education include the public university. Kekayaan Negra harus dinikmati bersama.
好主意.希望你能扮演重要角色!.最重要是要有明确方向及目标..避免空谈及浪费!
No need. Nanti all the SME wajib do this do that. Belum untung Seringgit already wajib 100 things need to login to 15 websites to do.
No need. Just delegate the job to the deputy minister
membazir kena bela lagi sekor menteri
More the merrier easy to create confusion
all these added cost eats into a biznes profit margin, work so hard & give free money away for inept govt policies bureaucracy & lazyness.
Good u pointed all the problems. Now let see you carry through the reform. All the govts help their sme to the fullest in the whole south east Asia region except Malaysian. The govt are finding way and faults to screw all the SME. So we will make sure next PRU we will screw guys first.
MITI Minister should be given to Wong Chen Economic Minister should be given to your goodself

No clear direction. No timeline. Two months have passed, and IPTS first-class graduates still don’t know whether they will qualify for the PTPTN loan waiver they were promised.
Students, parents, and community groups have raised their concerns. Petitions have been submitted. Yet MOHE only says: “We will review.”
But when? How long? Behind closed doors?
These students enrolled in IPTS in 2022, 2023 and 2024 believing that if they achieved first-class honours, part of their PTPTN loans would be waived. They worked for it. They earned it. But now the goalpost has moved.
That’s why I urge MOHE to form a Special Taskforce involving PTPTN, IPTA, IPTS, student bodies, civil society, and MPs to ensure transparency, fairness, and a clear review timeline.
Students aren’t asking for privilege. They’re asking for fairness.Announce the timeline now.

Well done, YB. We urgently need reforms to prevent the continued loss of our talents to other countries.
Thank you YB for Raising the Issue. Beside that, YB, many families need to Pay full for the education fees in university. PH Promised free education. Tak tunai tak pe.
We support you YB. Can you direct discuss with YAB PM seek for his help to look on this issue and get the approval in one month. IPTS is for all rakyat not for Chinese only. Education first priority
Terbaik YB Lee.
Yet all ministers performance are reported to be satisfactory. Standard must be pretty low.
DAP, your time to walk the talk. We need action! Many are forced to study in private universities not because they don't want local universities but even top scorer could not enter to study the course of their choices.
Greener pastures elsewhere ...
Brave politicians speak up. Voices to demand immediate resolutions to open up many existential issues that see no sunlight.
Teach them SMART model. The last is timelines (ada tarikh punya) not forever ever never ending
Why another taskforce? There is already a Board on the PTPTN? The exemptions were already stated clearly before, i.e. 1st class graduates would be exempted. What is the need for this Board if they can't voice out and carry out the promise?
It is a MUST to look into an effective education ministry to improve the education system..
That's how responsible the government is
Why now?!!!!
I agree 100% Madani Government please reply, we are not Idiots anymore only asking for fairness.
hv queried ptptn or not
That is classic lip services
Just woke up from slumber?!!!!
It's not that the goal post has been shifted, it's looks like ball is not there anymore to kick.
Klau nak "study" jgn hentikan sebelum keputusan muktamad, suka sgt nak "u-turn" .
Kerajaan madani jangan legak macam Kerajaan haprak dulu bangkit ...displine keras mesti dipatuhi...
...terbaik....nak bagi tak nak bagi bukan takat cakap shj....kena ada kerja2 jadikan benda2 yg diingini ke dlm dasar....
Mesti ada Klausa dalam kontrek pinjaman psl isu ini..
I pity all those who got first class
pujimat lah ko
end results need to show impact has been made💪✌️👍

*OPEN LETTER TO ALL MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT OF MALAYSIA.* ................................. Re: IPCMC Needed Now — Repeated SOP Breaches, Unanswered Cases, and Declining Public Trust Yang Berhormat Members of Parliament, Malaysia is once again confronted with troubling reports involving our enforcement institutions. Recent headlines show: An uninvestigated custodial death, A fatal shooting requiring independent scrutiny, Repeated findings of police SOP breaches in the Zara Qairina case, with no clear action made public, Failure to release key CCTV footage related to the Pamela Ling abduction case, despite sustained public interest and anxiety. These are not isolated issues. They have become a pattern — a pattern that weakens confidence in the rule of law and damages the reputation of the Royal Malaysia Police, even as many dedicated officers try to serve with honour. For decades, Malaysia has acknowledged a systemic flaw: the police cannot be the sole investigators of their own alleged misconduct. Internal reviews, departmental inquiries, and ad-hoc committees cannot meet the standard of independence necessary in cases involving death, abuse, or disappearance. It is for this reason that we appeal to Parliament, with utmost urgency, to finally establish the Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) with full investigative and enforcement powers. --- Why IPCMC is urgently needed 1. SOP breaches must lead to visible consequences In the Zara Qairina case, authorities publicly confirmed that police personnel had breached SOP. Yet, until today, no transparent update on disciplinary action has been shared with the public. A system that fails to show accountability only deepens distrust. 2. Transparency cannot be selective In the Pamela Ling abduction case, the public continues to question why the CCTV footage — crucial for clarifying the sequence of events — has not been released or explained. Transparency must be a default, not an exception. 3. Existing oversight mechanisms are inadequate Task forces and internal investigations do not satisfy international standards for independence and impartiality. Without an external body, public perception will always assume conflict of interest. 4. The police force itself benefits from independent oversight Good officers deserve protection from false allegations. The entire institution benefits when misconduct is identified, corrected, and prevented by an impartial body. --- What Malaysians expect from Parliament 1. An independent commission not controlled by the police hierarchy 2. Real investigative powers into misconduct, abuse of power, and custodial deaths 3. Mandatory transparency, including public reports and timelines 4. Protection for whistleblowers and victims’ families 5. A system where SOP breaches are not merely acknowledged, but addressed These expectations are not political demands — they are moral obligations. Every person in police custody, every victim of an abduction, and every family seeking answers deserves a justice system that is transparent, accountable, and humane. --- A bipartisan responsibility We urge all YBs—government and opposition alike—to treat the establishment of IPCMC as a non-partisan national priority. This is not an attack on the police. This is an investment in justice, professionalism, and Malaysia’s credibility. The rakyat is watching. The families of victims are still waiting. Every delay risks another preventable tragedy. Parliament must act. IPCMC Now.
